We had looked forward to having
today's exchange event. We invited the 65th Junior High School students to our
school. We were glad to be able to exchange with them today.
At first, we introduced
our school and our school life, such as school events, lessons, club activities
and so on. We also introduced Japanese popular cultures like musicians, sports,
comic books, food and so on. After that, we played Japanese drums for
welcoming.
Next, we had some sports events.
First we played ‘Centipede (Worm) relay’. We used ropes with 5 people. We put
our both feet in each hole. And we 5 students ran together to the big cone and
returned to the place where we started. The winner was team AB. They have no time to
practice, but they have a great cooperation. They ran and turned very fast.
Their feet were gotten together perfectly. Team CD members also enjoyed the
game and talked with each other.
Second we played ‘Long Jumping
Ropes’. We jumped together with all members in each team. All entered the rope
and jumped together as many times as we can in 2 minutes. We played this game
twice. In the third round, we have to stop jumping when someone
stops the rope. The total score
of team AC was 59 times.
So the winner was team AC!!!
They jumped for a long time. The more they practiced it, the better they got to
jump. It was wonderful! They had a very great work. It may be the first time to
play it. Is it also difficult for Japanese students to play this sport?
In the last game, we used Paper
Plane. Behind the line, we threw our own plane made of paper. Only the farthest
one was left on the floor. We threw our own plane in order of each team. At last,
the most times of the farthest one was the team C.
So the winner was the team C. It
was a simple plane which he made and could fly to the far place for a long
time. We found that it was more important to think how to throw it, not how to
make. We needed to throw it softly and in the shoulder height and in parallel
with the floor without strong power. Some of them returned back to the place
where they threw.
We had a good exchange event by
sports and communication today. We are shy and have little time to talk about
ourselves with each other. However we could learn a little each other in
English. We hope to exchange and know more each other. We had a great time
today!
